Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger on Adding One More Sector to Their Circle of Competence

In a candid conversation, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger explored a compelling hypothetical: if they had another 50 years to live and could master one additional sector to expand their famous “circle of competence,” where would they focus their efforts?Their discussion offers valuable insight into how two of the greatest investors of all time view the evolving global economy, the limits of personal knowledge, and the enduring principles of successful investing.
The Irresistible Appeal of TechnologyBuffett was clear about his choice: technology. He described the sector as one of the most transformative forces in the modern economy, characterized by extreme disparity in outcomes. While many traditional industries offer only modest competitive differences, technology consistently produces a handful of “enormous winners” alongside many failures.Buffett noted that if an investor can develop the rare ability to identify those future winners early, the potential returns far exceed what is possible in more mature, capital-intensive sectors like oil or manufacturing. In tech, the gap between the best and the rest is simply much wider. The Hard Truth About CompetenceDespite recognizing technology’s enormous potential, both Buffett and Munger remained remarkably realistic — and humble — about their own limitations. They acknowledged that, at this stage in their lives and careers, they were probably the “wrong people” to suddenly develop deep expertise in such a fast-moving field. Munger wryly observed that if they were truly suited to mastering technology, they likely would have done so earlier.Instead, their greatest strength has always been knowing what they don’t know, and then finding and backing exceptional people who do possess the necessary expertise — an approach that has been central to Berkshire Hathaway’s success for decades.Essential Lessons from the DiscussionSeveral key investment principles emerge from their exchange:
  • Scalability matters: Any new sector they pursued would need to be large enough to meaningfully move the needle for an organization the size of Berkshire Hathaway.
  • Look for high disparity: Sectors where outcomes vary dramatically — where a few true winners can deliver outsized results — offer far greater opportunities than industries with more uniform performance.
  • Radical self-awareness is essential: Even the most successful investors must honestly assess their own limitations. True wisdom lies in recognizing the boundaries of your competence and building systems to overcome them.
Buffett and Munger’s conversation serves as both an inspiring and humbling reminder: even legendary investors continuously evaluate where the world is heading, while staying firmly grounded in what they do best. Their willingness to admit where they fall short may be one of the most important reasons for their extraordinary long-term success.

Why "Witch Hat Atelier" is the Must-Watch Anime of Spring 2026

If you're looking for a fresh magical adventure that feels both nostalgic and completely original, Witch Hat Atelier (Tongari Boushi no Atelier) is stealing the spotlight this season. Based on the popular manga by Kamome Shirahama, this anime has quickly climbed to the top of weekly rankings and is being called one of the best new series of 2026.

What Makes Witch Hat Atelier Special?

Unlike typical "chosen one" fantasy stories, Witch Hat Atelier focuses on Coco, a young girl who dreams of becoming a witch but was born without the ability to use magic — or so she thought. The story explores themes of creativity, hard work, and the true meaning of talent in a beautiful hand-drawn world full of wonder.Key Highlights:
  • Stunning Animation: The magic system is based on drawing spells, and the anime beautifully brings the detailed illustrations from the manga to life. Every spell feels artistic and satisfying.
  • Strong World-Building: The witch society has strict rules, political intrigue, and a rich history. It avoids simple good vs evil and shows moral complexity.
  • Relatable Characters: Coco’s determination and the supporting cast (especially her mentors) make it easy to get emotionally invested.
  • Perfect Pacing: Spring 2026 episodes have been consistently praised for balancing action, mystery, and heartwarming moments.
Who Should Watch It?
  • Fans of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (similar calm-yet-epic fantasy vibe)
  • People who love magic systems with clear rules (like Fullmetal Alchemist)
  • Beginners looking for something beautiful and not too overwhelming
  • Manga readers who want to see the story animated perfectly
Pro Tip: If you haven't read the manga yet, the anime is a great entry point. It's faithful but adds motion and sound that make the spells even more magical.Where to Watch Witch Hat AtelierAvailable on Crunchyroll (with English subs and dubs coming soon). Some episodes are also hitting Netflix in select regions.Final Verdict: 9.5/10Witch Hat Atelier is more than just another fantasy anime — it's a love letter to creativity and craftsmanship. In a season packed with heavy hitters like Re:Zero Season 4, Classroom of the Elite Season 4, and Slime Season 4, this one stands out for its unique charm and visual beauty. If you're only going to pick one new anime this spring, make it this one.

The Ouster of John Bolton probably means the some signals for the North Korea?

Some western media have reported that Trump's National Security Advisor John Bolton was fired. There are various opinions about this decision.

However, I personally think this surprising separation definitely indicates that Trump administration seeks for the deeper negotiation with North Korea.

For example, the nuclear problems of the Korean peninsula have been major issues for the U.S.. Therefore, it seems that the U.S. president tries to solve this long standing hardship at once.

One of the reasons why the government wants to deal with the troublesome country though it needs the serious outcome which leads to the betrayal against his most reliable friend would be that in order to win the next Presidential Election, Trump need some kind of achievement which the Democrat's former president never got.

The future Where this amazing decision lead us remains to be seen.

Resident Evil 2 RE : Impression & Review

Resident Evil 2 RE (known as Biohazard 2 in Japan) has received a lot of praises since its release. In my opinion, as an enthusiastic fan of the series,
this title is a little bit disappointing one. There are several reasons for this.

First, compared to "Resident Evil 4" which is the most sophisticated sequel in the franchise, this one severely lacks various ingame features. For example, in RE4. you could collect valuable items and sell them to the merchant, which enables the user to get a lot of money for buying many interesting weapons and healing items that help you to proceed with the story. This system especially works in that even novice players can complete the entire game by collecting, selling or buying things.

On the other hand, in RE2RE, you cannot sell any item or buy things, what is more, there is no notion of Money in it. I think this makes RE2RE more boring and very mediocre. I cannot understand why the developers adopt the money feature in the game.

Another complaint about the RE2RE system is character modeling. Why on the earth does Lion have to have a cleft chin?  Why does Clair become such a cheerleader-like-obnoxious girl? and, most importantly, what happened to the once beautiful woman "Annette Birkin" who is now an old ugly woman in RE2RE.

In conclusion, I admit that this remake has a lot of great pleasure and some of the upgrades are good. However, they could make a much more interesting game by referring to the previous successful ones.

Nobel Prize For Trump Recommended by Japanese Prime Minister

Several Media outlets have reported that Japanese Prime minister Abe recommended Trump for the Nobel Prize.

The reactions of Japanese people toward this topic seem favorable so far. This is probably because SO many Japanese people actually like (or more appropriately admire) him very much. Of course, there are a certain number of criticisms against him in this country, but a lot of the sun-rising inhabitants really fond of his strong messages and political ideology.

For one thing, since the Trump administration began,  Japanese national security and economy have been remarkably improving along with America. Most people in Japan recognize this great change no matter what their political creeds are.

For example, during Obama's era, Japan was often threatened by not only North Korea's missiles, but also China's Territorial brutal actions.  At that time, we needed to protect ourselves only by ourselves. However, after Trump, North Korea has begun to be calm and the Chinese invasion has been successfully intercepted by the strong American presence in this "Far East" area.

In addition, the speed of the Japanese economic growth has also increased rapidly.  It can be said that the strong diplomatic & trade relationship between Japan and America hugely contribute to this recent trend. Certainly, there are a few arguments out there, but the advantages of the two countries' tie undoubtfully outweigh the demerits definitely.

All in all, Almost all Japanese people would somewhat agree with Trump's nomination for Nobel  Prize by Abe. Maybe, Mr. Trump is now much more popular in Japan than in his own country.
